The S100 I/O system is available for the Advant Controller 400 Series. The S100 direct I/O system consists of I/O modules with 4 to 32 channels.S100 I/O consists of one or more I/O racks with several I/O boards, connection units and cables covering a wide variety of applications and specific needs. The I/O boards are divided into groups, depending on their function. Within each group, there are several I/O boards with differing functionality and complexity.

The Advant Controller 410 includes an integral S100 I/O rack, while the Advant Controller 450 interfaces up to five S100 I/O sub-racks through a single or redundant interface module and cables. Optical modems enable remote location of S100 I/O sub-racks.

Variants are also available for integration of Intrinsic Safety Modules as well as HART Multiplexers.
