Description:
The Bently Nevada 3500/45 140072-04 Position Monitor Module is a critical component of the 3500Series Machinery Protection System. Is a 4-channel device designed to accept input from various sensors, including proximity transducers, Rotary Position Transducers (RPTs), DC Linear Variable Differential Transformers (DC LVDTs), AC Linear Variable Differential Transformers (AC LVDTs), and rotary potentiometers. It processes the incoming signals and compares them against user-defined alarm settings.
This module is specifically designed to monitor radial vibration, axialthrust position, and other shaft dynamic measurements. lt ensures precise and reliable monitoring forrotating equipment, enhancing operational safety and efficiency.

FAQ
Q1: What do the LED indicators (CHANNEL, OK, BYPASS, ALERT, DANGER) on the module's front panel represent?
-CHANNEL (Channel Light):Flashing green indicates the module detected a valid dynamic (AC) signal on that channel. A constantly lit or off light may indicate a probe gap problem or signal fault.
-OK (OK Light):Solid green indicates the module passed its self-test and the hardware and software are functioning normally.
-Bypass Light: Solid yellow indicates the alarm function for that channel has been bypassed (suppressed), typically used during maintenance. It should not be constantly lit during operation.
-ALERT (Warning Light) & DANGER (Danger Light):Red, indicating that the measured value for the corresponding channel has exceeded the preset "Warning" and "Danger" alarm thresholds, respectively. Danger alarms usually trigger a shutdown interlock.
Q2: How to troubleshoot if the channel's "CHANNEL" light is off or constantly lit (not flashing)?
This indicates a signal loop fault.
CH light not lit: Check if the probe gap is too large (no target detected), if the probe extension cable or coaxial cable is open/short-circuited, if the probe head is damaged, or if the preamplifier (if external) is faulty.
CH light constantly lit (green): May indicate that the probe gap is too small (blocked), the probe is too close to the conductor target, or the module has detected an abnormal DC voltage signal.
Troubleshooting steps: Use a multimeter to measure the probe gap voltage and compare it with the normal value (approximately -10VDC corresponds to a standard gap); check the wiring; try replacing it with a known good probe and cable.
