Description:

As previously announced, the MicroNet™ 040/060 CPU Modules, the associated TMR Kernel Power Supply, the Transceiver modules, and the Serial VFD Two-line Display will be inactivated by 30 July 2015. Woodward is offering a last-time buy for any OEM or user who needs to stock additional spares of the 040/060 CPUs or related modules. Repair services will be available up to 5 years after module inactivation, depending on component availability. Please see the Obsolete Modules section below for the affected item numbers. 

The CPU 040/060 Modules were used as the main processor for NetCon™/MicroNet platforms until the early 2000’s, and on the 040 TMR product line until 2009. This functionality has been replaced by newer CPUs, and the old designs are no longer feasible to produce due to component obsolescence. The item numbers of the replacement products are listed below.

Converting a NetCon system to the new CPUs will require application software updates, Chassis replacement, Power Supply replacement, and may require I/O module updates. See MicroNet Plus product specification 03333 and product manuals 26166V1 & 26166V2 for information on the replacement modules.

Conversion to the new CPUs makes available a new suite of software service tools (see product manual 26336).
