Pressure-compensated WOODWARD 8525-971 speed regulator SERIAL NO. 20651685 MODEL: UG MAS 

The UG MAS is a pressure-compensated hydraulic speed governor designed to accept standard 4-20 milliampere current signals to set the governor speed. 

The internal pump, safety valve and accumulator system maintain the working pressure of the governor. An independent oil tank stores the oil, thereby reducing the possibility of external contamination. 

The oil flow entering and exiting the power cylinder assembly of the governor is controlled by the ball head and the pilot valve assembly. The power cylinder positions the fuel rack, fuel engine or turbine's valves or steam valves. The stability of the governor is ensured by the adjustable needle valve and the spring buffer compensation system. 

The separate UG MAS electronic driver box receives a 4-20 milliampere speed signal. This input signal is set to correspond to the desired speed range and is achieved using two potentiometers. The driver drives a stepper motor to move the speed lever.
The position of the speed lever determines the compression of the speed spring.
