EPRO was founded in 1970. Its predecessor was Signal Equipment GMBH in the Netherlands, which was a factory under Philips at that time. In 1992, it became an independent company, EPRO Electronic Systems Co., LTD. In 1994, it merged with the Philips Turbine Monitoring and Protection Division, indirectly inheriting Philips' valuable experience and related facilities in the field of rotating machinery protection. In 1995, the rotating machinery protection department of AEG Company was merged, further enhancing the technical strength of the entire company.

In the following two years, namely 1997 and 1998, EPRO Company developed rapidly and launched the MMS6000, which was the most advanced rotating machinery monitoring system in the world at that time. With reliable performance and quality, it has been applied and recognized by international users. In China, its market performance has developed from the initial 18 sets of RMS700 systems introduced by the Ministry of Electric Power to nearly a thousand sets of MMS6000 systems in operation today, ranging from small units with a capacity of one million to 50,000. There is successful experience in using the MMS6000 system on various auxiliary equipment, from the main equipment of the nuclear island to the main steam turbines of conventional thermal power plants.

By 2009, EPro GmbH was fully acquired by Emerson and, like Fisher, Micro Motion, Rosemount, DeltaV and PLANTWEB, became a brand under Emerson, enabling Emerson to gain a dominant position in the world in process control and process inspection. EPRO has also continued to this day under Emerson.

The EPRO eddy current sensors PR6423,PR6424, and PR6426 are mainly used in conjunction with CON011 or CON021, etc., and can be used to detect displacement. After being connected to the monitoring system, this measurement loop is suitable for measuring static and dynamic displacements, such as the axial displacement, relative shadow expansion difference and radial vibration amplitude of rotating machinery, etc. The connection electrode between the sensor and the preamplifier can withstand high temperatures, oil and chemical corrosion. It is mainly applied in industries such as power, scientific research, and rail transit.
